I think in most contexts — laziness doesn’t really exist. I don’t think people are inherently lazy, I don’t think people lack the desire to accomplish things in their life. Oftentimes, laziness is really just fear. A fear to fail, a fear to not be good enough, a fear of pursuing the wrong thing.
I think most people want to make something meaningful of their lives. I truly believe most people want to dedicate themselves to something they are passionate about. But, at the same time, I think many people are fearful of change. They fear failure, they fear judgement, commitment, they fear that they may go down the wrong path or end up somewhere dark and unfamiliar.
Ultimately, these fears lead many of us to stagnation. They paralyze us and keep us idle in the same spot. Instead of acting on what we love, we become fearful and choose to stay where we are, which causes us feel lazy and unmotivated.
